Tips for Looking Younger #4: Thicker Eyebrows

We all remember having some sort of eyebrow crisis in our lives.

Whether it was over plucking or having half of our eyebrow waxed off, we have all been there. But one way to really look younger is to keep your eyebrows a big thicker. Now I am not saying look like a caveman, but leave a little bit more on the arch and ends of your eyebrow. This will give your face a more dominant look and focus the attention on your eyes and avoid those fine lines and wrinkles.

Now I know some of you have the sparse eyebrows but there is a simple fix to that. You can fill in those spaces by using a brow pencil or a dark eye shadow that matches your eyebrow color. Now if you are unsure how to create a thicker, younger eyebrow visit a makeup artist to show you how to create this look. Remember that you are going for a natural look here so use short natural strokes and avoid overarching because this will only make you look older! THINK ELIZABETH TAYLOR! Complete this look and you are one young hot momma!

Tips for Looking Younger #3: Bright Eyes

As we get older we start to get less and less sleep. The first thing people see when they look at us is our eyes. For as long as I can remember I have had to wear some type of concealer.

My favorite product right now for under eye circles Dior’s SkinFlash Radiance Booster Pen. This is the Mecca of all under eye products. This helps bring out the collagen and allows the natural light to reflect off of your skin in a way that allows those dark circles to be invisible.

Another great product is the Teamine Eye Cream. It is also another product I swear by that really puts the focus on your eyes and not the bags or dark circles underneath. After using both of these products I noticed an all around skin difference and had many compliments on my new refreshed look!

Tips for Looking Younger #2: Wear Blush

Such a simple yet essential part of the makeup process as WEARING BLUSH can make our skin and overall look go from drab to fab in seconds.

Applying the right shade of blush is key to looking younger. I love the NARS “Orgasm” shade because it works for EVERY SKIN TONE! Despite the name, this shade is ideal for the older woman because it goes on very sheer and you can determine how light or dark you would like to wear it. This shade is very versatile and can change your whole look with just a few strokes of a brush. So remember ladies, BLUSH IS BEST!

Cute Travel Couture

Ever go on a trip and wish you had something comfortable yet stylish to wear while traveling? Well I have your solution. Take a simple pair of leggings or jeans and wear a basic tank or tee and you have the foundation of a comfortable, travel-friendly outfit.

Now for the accent pieces. Add a cute scarf or simple necklace to make your simple outfit pop - I suggest using a bright color or bold print to standout. Also remember to wear a jacket because you never know how hot or cold the plane and destination you are traveling to will be. Traveling should be fun and stress free so the last thing you need to worry about is looking good. Have a great trip!

How to Wear an Animal Print at any Age!

Okay so many of my ladies are asking me if they can pull off the animal print look and the answer is YES! Any woman of any age can wear animal prints as long as it is done right! The key is to be tasteful and not over the top. Here are a few tips to help you create a fabulous animal look:

  • Stick to ONE animal.

You do not want to mix different animal prints in one outfit or you will look like a “HOT MESS” – so pick one print ONLY!

  • Stick to ONE body part.

I know it is hard because animal prints are so good looking BUT, the fact remains that we must be tasteful so pick one party of your body you would like to wear this print. Whether it is a printed top or a scarf or even a skirt, pick one and make it the statement in your outfit.

  • DO NOT GO JERSEYLICIOUS ON US!

I know it’s tempting but please, please, please do not put on something too tight or too revealing. It is very easy to make animal print go from chic to eeek!

Follow these simple tips and you are sure to look stunning and vicious in animal print!!!!

Pop of Color

I know each and every one of you ladies love the color black. It’s chic, it’s sophisticated, and looks very fashion forward. All of these things are true but every now and then black can give our skin a very old-wrinkly appearance and even make us look older!

In the winter and spring it is best to add a pop of color in your all black attire to give you a lighter appearance. This pop of color can be a bright, vivid clutch or a scarf or even a bright tank. This will break up the harsh effect black has on your skin and liven up your look. It can even make you look more approachable! So go ahead and give this look a try, anyone can wear it and look like a million bucks!

How to Wear RED

So I have received a lot of questions about red lipstick. Many of you think you cannot wear red lipstick because there is a rumor that it makes us look older. LIES!  A lot of older women such as Diane Keaton and Jamie Lee Curtis wear red lipstick and look fabulous!!! But still so many questions of how to wear it come around; many of you wonder how to wear it during the day or even at night and I think the one question on every woman’s mind is, “How do I wear red lipstick without making my teeth look yellow?Wearing a blue-red lipstick is like an optical illusion. It tricks your teeth into thinking they are a true white.

Another major issue is how to wear red lipstick during the day and the key to this look is SIMPLICITY. Wearing a very simple outfit is the only way to wear red in the daytime without looking cheap. Pick out your favorite pair of jeans or leggings and pair them with a basic tank (preferably white or black) and a boyfriend blazer, this will create a beautiful silhouette and put all of the focus on your face! Try to stick with black and white when wearing red lipstick! Remember simple, simple, simple!

Color Blocking

Many of you have seen the infamous color block look in magazines all over, but I am sure the question on your minds is, “How do I create this look at my age without looking overdone?” Well you have come to the right place because I am here to show you how to create this look with minimal effort.

When attempting the color block look you want to pick out complementary colors that will be appealing to the eye. These colors can be very bright or they can be a little more subtle. If you are unsure of what colors will complement each other well look at a color wheel or a simple trick is look at collegiate school colors.  Remember, color blocking is best achieved with bright, strong colors like your oranges, reds, blues, and yellows! Do not be afraid of neon colors as long as you use them sparingly!
