2013 is a Shoe-Lover’s DREAM!

Footwear has a significant impact on your personality and how you feel about yourself. Additionally, fashion and shoes are closely connected. If you are a shoe lover, then the year 2013 with its fashion trends will delight you.

In fact, most women these days are paying close attention initially to how their shoes look than even their wardrobe. Why? Well, even a simple pair of shoes can immediately change how your outfit looks. As a shoe lover, you will end up spending time trying to find the right shoes before you even select your clothing. Wearing stylish shoes at all times is going to be important to you.

Today, fashionistas see shoes as making a better fashion statement than in past years.  No longer are shoes just a practical solution to footwear. People are putting thought into choosing their footwear and making it stand out. Let’s take a closer look at some of the shoe fashion highlights and what choices are available to women for 2013 and beyond.

Party shoes

Even though, there are many different choices of shoes for a party, most women are going for glitter and stilettos. If you want to feel like a princess when going to a party, it is not uncommon to wear diamond studded or spiked shoes. These types of shoes may cost you more, though, so if you want to lower your cost, you could look for a fashionable spin off instead of the designer Balmain stilettos. These shoes will go well with almost any outfit that you wear. You can wear them with jeans, a nice straight dress or skirt. They can also be bought in a variety of styles.

Animal print pumps

If you want to be the center of attention, throw on a pair of animal print pumps. You can get them in strappy sandals, peep toes, pointed toes, dark shades, light colors and even alligator skin. This type of shoe selection can be a fun way to show off your outfit.

Flats are Just as Chic and Hip

There may be a lot of times that you find it hard to stand in high heels or pumps. A ballet flat can be just as chic and hip for the party or office. Here are some suggestions:

  • Leather flats in copper or silver
  • Marc Jacobs has designed a red ballet shoes with a little black on the toe and a gold zipper
  • Regular flats in different colors

If you work in an office where you stand most of the day, flat shoes in leather can keep you cool and comfy all day long. With leather flats, you have many different colors and styles to choose from. Therefore, you are able to adapt any outfit to your shoes. If your preference is to wear heels to work, you can always switch to leather flats if your feet get sore sometime in the day. For the ideal work shoes, you won’t go wrong with leather flats.

New for summer 2013

Kitten heels are going to be popular this summer. They are chic, stylish, trendy and classy. They are the ideal addition to your summer wardrobe. You can find them in a variety of styles; particularly the ballet style. They have become quite prevalent over the years because you can wear them with multiple outfits. The pump version can be worn for both casual and formal occasions such as lunches, weddings and other events. The sandal version is great for the summer. You can wear them on the beach and for a quiet stroll.

If you are a woman of petite stature, you can wear kitten heels to lengthen your frame and add some height without having to depend on stiletto heels that can be uncomfortable at times. Kitten heels offer the perfection option to stilettos. They are easy to walk in, gives you poise and balance as well as comfort.

With a variety of options that you have when it comes to shoes, you should take time to find the pairs that you like. However, no matter what type of fashion statement you want to make this year, always pick the pair that is most comfortable and that fits perfectly.

Expert Tips on Organizing Your Closet

It doesn’t make sense to own the most up-to-date handbag or trendy apparel and you cannot find space in your wardrobe to put them and you cannot find a certain outfit or purse when you need it. With a clean and organized closet, you can maximize your options and discover a refined look that you may need for a business meeting. You don’t want to deal with a scattered mess of clothing because it takes so much to fix clutter, so why create it?
Here are some tips to easier de-cluttering. Soon you will not just have full access to every piece of clothing, but you will have an orderly space like never before.

Step 1: Spring clean your closet
Getting rid of clothes that you haven’t worn in two years or more is the ideal way to clear your closet. This may be a difficult process since you have been attached to some of your outfits for so long. If it makes you feel any better, donate those items to people who need it more. This will make room for the items that you do want to keep. If you have clothing that is too small or too big, eliminate them from your wardrobe; especially if you are looking to buy new clothing.

Step 2: Hire a professional organizer or come up with a solution for appropriate storage
If it gets too overwhelming for you, then hire a professional organizer to deal with your overstuffed closet. This may be more cost effective for you. You just may need the help to create storage space such as additional shelving, new drawers and storage units. If you want to do it yourself, then go to your home department store and evaluate the different storage options such as plastic containers with multiple drawers as well as shoe trees.

Step 3: Begin the organizing process
Remember that if you can see it, then you will wear it. So begin the process by taking all similar items and putting them in one place. Organize tops seasonally. For example, all sweaters could be folded and placed in drawers or on shelves so that they still keep their shape rather than putting them on hangers. Put them in color coded order using cubbies or dividing them. Organize them according to how light and heavy they are.

Organize your jeans either by:
• Brand
• Cut
• Style
• Size
• Color (the most simple and easier way)

Items such as your pants, shorts or skirts can be hanged or folded for uniformity. Your dresses can be hung by color instead of length. Begin with the strapless dresses first and then the long sleeved dresses. Make sure that your dresses are not left in a garment bag or dry cleaning plastic. Organize your dresses seasonally as well.

Other options
For your handbags, hats, scarves and shoes, use the same process. Make them all as noticeable as possible. How are you going to change your shoes or bag without first seeing them? Fold your scarves in a color coordinated way or by material. Use hat boxes and identify the hats by labeling the boxes and putting photos on the outside.

Organize your shoes by giving the toe of the right shoe a frontal positioning and the left shoe heel the same. Put your tennis shoes and your slippers in the back of your closet.

Organize your lingerie by size, material and color. So that you don’t wear the same thing over and over again, alternate the organization process.
You should have a different location for your jewelry; preferably a drawer built into your closet or dresser. This will keep everything neat and organized.

Boot Glams

As Summer quickly approaches I see more and more unique, strappy, fun heels. So I have been in search for the perfect pair but I cannot wear these really tall, sky high heels I have been seeing in EVERY STORE! I found the perfect solution to look unique but still have the heel you want and that is BOOT GLAMS!

I found this product through my granddaughter actually and it is funny because she had the CEO of Boot Glams come speak to her fashion trends class about their product and when she came home and I told me I was amazed at this product. It works for any woman, any age. The concept is you basically take any heel or boot that you already own and you tie this adornment of feathers or jewels around the ankle and you have created and ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SHOE!!! Here are some pictures of what they look like on and let me tell you ladies, this is perfect for any occasion and any season! You can even put these over a simple pair of flat sandals! So if you are like me and enjoy unique, sexy shoes but you like the idea of customizing your favorite pair then you must try these. You can go to their website and see the styles at bootglams.com.

Edward Scissorhands Chic: Studs and Spikes!

This is one of my favorite looks that transitions throughout the year, and you can wear it anytime. The best way I can describe this look is “Edward Scissorhands Chic”. That probably sounds really odd but that’s exactly what inspired this look. The idea of real hardware mixed with black and leather is such an iconic look that a woman at any age can pull it off. Here’s how we do it:

Pick one item that you want to stand out in your outfit. This can be a bracelet or a shoe or even a handbag. Look for styles that have studs or spikes on it that you can really see yourself wearing. Here is a pair of Louboutin heels that have studs all over them that really give any outfit a pop of sexy! With studs and spikes you really do not need to add to many accessories because the studs and spikes take on that role of an accessory.

Here I also wanted to show you a handbag. It is a Burkin Knockoff but I love the spikes on this. This handbag would dress up any look and really stand out as a statement in your wardrobe. Spikes and studs will be around for a while so feel free to INVEST in this look because it will be around for a while!

Remember ladies, be daring! This look is for a CONFIDENT woman so when you wear it, own it!!!!!

Shoes… with Style!

Many of you ladies are in that stage in life where it is almost impossible to find the right kind of shoe. The shoes this day and time are either 6 inches high or flat and frumpy.

We often have issues with our feet whether it is swelling or arch problems and shopping for shoes is the last thing we enjoy next to weighing ourselves!

Well it is time to change that. I have spent time studying shoes and the woman’s feet and found out many things that I was unaware of before.

Many of us do not know the type of shoe we should be buying at our age and this is often why we have foot pain later in life.
Women 40+ have to find a shoe with arch support yet sturdy on the sides to support the ENTIRE FOOT. So here are some styles that I love:

Below is a pair of leopard kitten heels. These are very sensible if you are going to work or out to dinner and they give you just enough height to have a sexy leg without feeling like you are going to break your ankle.

If, on the other hand, you are just going shopping or out with girlfriends or even if you prefer a lower flat shoe, these Tory Burch flats are HEAVEN (below). They have a built in arch support with a cushion that sits behind the heel so you won’t have that painful blister occur like some flats tend to create!

Remember ladies, not all flats have to be frumpy and look like something our ancestors created!  Keep your style in mind and find something that says YOU!
